11How to Know Whether a Black Friday Annual Pass Is Worth It

An annual pass may look attractive when advertised with a large discount, but its real value depends on how often you use it.

Consider this hypothetical example:

These figures are illustrative and do not represent the prices of any particular attraction.

A family visiting four or five times may benefit from an annual pass, while a family visiting only once may save more by purchasing individual tickets.

Five Things Parents Should Check

1. Validity period

Does the pass cover the next calendar year, a specific season or 12 months from activation?

2. Child age requirements

Does your child need a separate ticket or annual pass?

3. Included attractions

Are rides, exhibitions and special events included, or are additional tickets required?

4. Booking conditions

Do annual-pass holders need to reserve admission in advance?

5. Additional expenses

Consider parking, transportation, food and accommodation.

A discounted annual pass isn't necessarily a bargain if your family cannot use it frequently.
