Aspuddsparken in Aspudden, southern Stockholm, is one of the city's best-known *parklekar* – staffed playparks – with animals. Entry is free, and it works for toddlers and school-age children alike.

What is Aspuddsparken?

A large playpark with a playground, a paddling pool in summer, a café and a small farm. You can meet horses, goats, sheep, pigs, rabbits and other animals – gently and on the animals' terms.

The park is run by Djur & Kul AB. Sometimes animals are taken in early in very bad weather, and some areas are closed off for the animals' sake – please respect the signs.

Pony riding at weekends

  • When: Saturdays and Sundays, rides start every quarter-hour from 11:30 at the pony ramp.
  • How long: 15 minutes per ride.
  • Price: 150 kr.
  • Booking: pre-booked and paid on Bokadirekt. Places for each weekend are released on Thursday morning – they go fast.
  • Good to know: one adult per child walks along (besides the park's staff). One of the ponies takes riders up to 40 kg.
  • No riding during the Christmas and summer holidays or over Easter weekend.

On some Wednesdays (around 11:15) and on some school-holiday days there are shorter pony laps – call the park on 08-19 99 15 around 10:00 to check.

See upcoming weekend sessions in our kids' activities calendar.

Courses, evening rides and day camp

Aspuddsparken also runs longer bookings:

  • Riding courses for beginners from age 7, about once per term.
  • Evening rides of around 25 minutes in the neighbourhood – spring places open 1 February, autumn places 1 June.
  • Summer day camp with animals for children from age 7. Places for 2027 open on 15 January 2027.

We list these on our new kids' courses page, together with swimming, dance and other term courses.

Opening hours

  • Weekdays: 8:30–17:00 (café closed for lunch 12:30–13:30)
  • Weekends: 9:00–16:00 (March–October), 9:00–14:00 (November–February)
  • Public holidays and eves: 9:00–14:00

Getting there

Address: Hövdingagatan 18, 126 52 Hägersten. Take the red metro line to Aspudden and walk a few minutes. Paths through the park work well with a pram.
